Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843AOP
Hi,
We received ADC data in complex-2x mode from IWR6843AOP sensor. In the 2D fft plot of the received adc data, we see two distinct spreads covering all the velocity bins in certain range. We require to use complex 2x mode for your application to use the interference detection capability. The peak of this spread is considerable when the static clutter ( zero velocity) is suppressed as seen below:
We beleive this issue is caused y antenna coupling of AOP sensors and is more prominent in complex2x mode.
Our major probelm is that we want to use OCmplex-2x format in our applciation for interference detection and we want to detect very small objects. For a small reflection, this gets considerable high spread and supresses it.
We have tried with direct ADC capture and also with DCA board ADC data capture. The issue is present in both the approaches
We have tried with multiple configurations having different slope, sampling rate and bandwidth. The issue is present in all the configurations
The issue is phenomenal in complex 2x mode rather than in complex 1x mode. But the issue is present in both.
We donot see this spread in other Antenna on PCB based EVMs.
The first group of peaks occurs around the range bin of 6-10, with the peak at 8th bin. The antenna coupling peak occurs in the 2-3rd bin for the same data in the static clutter region. In all other devices, antenna coupling is present in 0 velcoity bins and not seen as a spread.
No other sensors were swtiched ON nearby, to cause interference.
We would like to know:
1) Whether this issue is seen in all AOP sensors?
2) IS there a software/firmward fix or workaround for this issue? our targetted object is considerably small and it gets supressed if it falls in these range bins
3) Will this issue be fixed in the new hardware revison or ES deisgns?
Thanks in advance,
