AWR1642: Clarification on when to do the BPM-MIMO resolution

Hi,

The attached document states that the decoding for BPM-MIMO implementation "must be performed before the angle-FFT (and ideally after the Doppler-FFT)". 

Would it be acceptable to decode the received ADC signal prior to any digital signal processing? Even before the range-FFT and Doppler-FFT?

If not, can you please explain why it should be done where you recommend because the explanation on the attached does not fully make sense to me? It states "to enable phase corrections due to non-zero velocity to be applied prior to decoding".
