Hello,

my Name is Justin and I am working with an AWR1843BOOST. I try to collect some data (1. with the demo, 2. with DCA1000).

I would like to configure the settings so I can use my AWR1843BOOST for some gesture recognition. I know, that my device is not the right one for an application like that, but it is the only one I have.

I found a .cfg-file for an AWR1642 like this:

But it is not working...Some commands are not allowed or they are, maybe, to old (?).

So I changed some command (see below) and tried again, but it also failed:

Sorry the previous upload failed.

I should add, that I am looking for:

dmax = 3m
dres = 4,7
vmax = 1,9 m/s
vres = 58 mm/s

So I have some values which I want to set, but it is not working as I wrote before.

Hi,

Are you trying to capture raw data using the mmWave SDK demo with the DCA1000?

Are you trying to use same chirp configuration as for AWR1642?

I think capture raw data via mmWave SDK demo is not possible, is it? So with the mmWave SDK want to capture processed data, but I need a correct configuration.
Can I use the same configuration, which I will use for the demo, also for the DCA1000 (via mmWave Studio)?

At the moment yes. So I need to add one chirpCfg?

Justin,

You may be trying to use a SDK version 2.x configuration file (*.cfg) with an SDK version 3.x binary. You will need to look at the User Guide to determine which CLI commands are required and compare that with the configuration file you are currently trying to send.

For an example gesture recognition application, you can look at this example lab found in our Automotive Toolbox:

As I noticed, there are many commands changed in the newer SDKversions right? Is there any documentation about which commands are replaced by other commands?

Justin,

You can compare the User Guides from the respective SDK releases to see which CLI commands are used in each.

For example, in the latest SDK release, the User Guide is found in this folder location:

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_04_00_03\docs
