PGA305: PGA305 gain settings

Part Number: PGA305

Dear sir,

1. for PGA305 i need voltage output 0-3V for input +/-20mv please provide the gain adjustment calculations sir,

2.we are using load cell output +/-20mV for input of PGA305 We need to get output from 0-3 V please provide all calculations and gain adjustment settings for this.

3.please provide all internal gain adjustment settings with calculations for voltage output for PGA305.

4.for -20mV we need a 0V and for +20mV we need 3V.

  • Hello Vinay,

The PADC in the PGA305 has a range of +/- 2.5V. With an input of +/- 20mV, the maximum possible gain you should choose is 125 V/V. The closest gain setting that is lower than 125 V/V is 100 V/V, so this will most likely be the best choice to maximize the input range of the ADC. Note that any offset in your sensor will limit the gain that you can choose while avoiding clipping at the ADC input.

The output will be determined by your calibration, but if you are not using the ratiometric DAC output, you will need to select a DAC buffer gain, which will determine the maximum output voltage of the PGA305. For a 3V maximum output in absolute mode, you will need to set the gain to 4V/V.

You can use the Guided Calibration tab in the PGA305 GUI to complete the calibration that will allow you to calibrate the output to 0-3V for the full range of your sensor.

    Regards,
