IWR6843ISK-ODS: About the power topology of EVM IWR6843ISK-ODS

Part Number: IWR6843ISK-ODS

HI

There are some questions about the power tree on EVM IWR6843ISK-ODS confused me, it is about the 3.3V power supply. PMIC output the PMIC_3V3 power rail, it is divided into two 3.3V power domains,

One is VCC_3V3 , this power domain is connected to QSFPI,TEMPERATURE SENSOR, CURRENT SENSOR, EEPROM, TS3A5018RSVR and so on.

The other is PMICOUT_3V3 , which is connected to UART SELECTION ,USB to UART and so on.

I wonder what is the purpose of this solution? Can I conbine these two 3.3V power domains to one?

Regards

  • Hello,

VCC_3V3 and  PMICOUT_3V3 are derived from common supply, PMIC_3V3.

This  provision is provide just to isolate the coupling of noise from one section of the digital block to the other blocks.

If absolutely needed then these two domains could be combined to simplify the power tree.

    Thanks and regards,
