TMP117: TMP117

Part Number: TMP117

Hello Texas's team,

We try to use sensor TMP117(sensor-I2C-controller) but we found that after heating sensor under  warm fan, controller read temperature less that it was before this operation.

How is it possible? And maybe you have idea what is wrong?

Thank you in advance

  • Hi Denys,

    Welcome to the E2E Forums.

How "warm" is the warm fan? If the air is warmer than the TMP117 when it reaches it, it should add thermal energy to the device as it passes over, as you expect. If the heat from the fan source has already dissipated to around ambient when it reaches the TMP117, I could see it reducing the temperature.

You can try moving the heat source and TMP117 closer together, so the air has less time to lose energy.

Can you also share anymore details about your setup? If you've written your own code it may also be useful to see how you've coded the temperature conversion from the TMP117.

    Best Regards,
    Brandon Fisher
