LM60: paralleling LM60

Hi ,

I am left with only one adc channel.i have to measure temperature of 4 different devices.The design that i have employed will enable a LM60 one by one and temperature will be measured by adc.Tthe Vout of 4 LM60s are connected together.From what i understand from functional block diagram,Vout is pulled to gnd by a resistor (value not specified).If one LM60 turns on,it must be able to drive the Vout of other 3 LM60.,My query is whether this type of configuration will work properly or not?

Hi Deebanmadhu,

I don't recommend connecting the LM60s together. On page 9, Section 8.2 Functional Block diagram shows resistors to ground that will provide a path to ground even when the LM60 is not powered. The active LM60 would need to drive 3 of these in parallel, and LM60 is not specified to drive more than 1uA. I would look for an analog output sensor which has an enable or T_ON input like the LMT70.

HI Ren Schackmann,

Thanks for the clarification.I have added N-Channel FET to the ground of each LM60.

I will enable one LM60,while disabling other LM60's disconnecting from ground effectively.Will this work?

This seems reasonable in theory. I would double-check that the gate chosen operates as expected under this condition.
