AWR1642BOOST: <txPhaseShifter> // Clarification

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, AWR1843

Hi,

I have read many threads mentioning that the AWR1642 does not support the <txPhaseShifter> input in profileCfg. Why does it not work if I change the 0 to 32 (which corresponds to the 180deg phase shift)? Is it a firmware issue?

I ask because I know it is possible for the AWR1642 hardware to switch between 0deg and 180deg every chirp as is done in the BPM setting.

I also noticed the below diagram in the AWR1642 technical documents... if the phase shifter control is slashed (as is seen in diagram), then can you explain the Timing Engine referenced and how that is used to apply phase shift?

Thanks,

George
