TMP464: how to mask D4 over temperature warning output through THERM pin

Part Number: TMP464

hi Team,

my customer uses TMP464 channel D1/3/4 for measuring remote temperature but they only want THERM pin report the over temperature warning on channel D1/3 and the warning of D4 needed to be ignored.

so how can we achieve this requirements?

Can we set 30h bit11 to 0 to disable the conversion on Channel 4? will this mask D4 over temperature warning through THERM pin?

or should they set the thermal limit to a high value so that the over temperature will never be triggered?

thanks.

  • Hi Kelly,

Setting 30h bit11 to 0 will disable the channel so the device will not update the temperature on channel 4.  Since there would be no conversion and no temperature update on that channel it will not assert the THERM pin from an overtemperature event.

    Thanks,

    David
