TMP1075: as a replacement for 3001 01590002 (Honeywell) Thermostat

Part Number: TMP1075

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Is the TMP1075 an appropriate device alternative for the 3001 01590002 (Honeywell) Thermostat? Below is the link to that device.

https://sensing.honeywell.com/3001-01590002-non-hermetically-sealed

If not appropriate, is there any alternative that the customer can use?

Thanks in advance!

  • Dear Art -

This device that you pointed to is a physical single pole thermal (bi-metallic) switch which is used directly inline with distributed and higher system voltages. From our product line of silicon based products, for you to provide a drop in replacement and be safe, you would need to design a power circuit to go with them which can handle same AC/DC and current regulatory ratings and specs, then gate it with the output of the temperature switch, plus do all the mechanical design as it also looks like specific form factor (if they require making a drop in solution for this). The TMP1075 could be used, but there are other devices like the TMP302A-Q1 which can be set for that range by resistor. (see table 1, page 7, here https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tmp302-q1.pdf ) and the rest of the temp switch line here ==> https://www.ti.com/sensors/temperature-sensors/temperature-switches/products.html#
