TMP112: question regarding to I2C communication

Hi team,

My customer have some question regarding to I2C communication.

1. just to confirm, when some noise, for example, accidentally make SDA L (start condition), is it possible to receive repeated start condition(without stop condition)?

i think there is no problem, if tsusta is larger than requirement value.

2. what happen if I2C communication is suspended in the middle of communication?

and is it possible to resume communication after that? how?

Thanks for positng!

1. In I2C START and REPEATED START conditions are functionally identical, both make the I2C bus "busy".

2. Most likely that scenario would result in NACK from slave device and the sequence would have to be restarted.

Hi Takuya-san,

TMP112 has the SMBus Time out feature. If the communication pauses for more than 30ms, it will abandon that transaction. If the communication were resumed, TMP112 would not respond to it. It will work as expected when a new communication is started with the I2C Start sequence.
