Hi,

I'm currently trying to develop code for the IWR6843 that will be used as an application code/bench test for detecting high velocity, small RCS objects. I have looked at the industrial Toolbox(4.4.1) labs which showcase the capabilities of the IWR6843 and have read the SDK user guide/Mmwave_sdk_module_documentation. These documents seem to focus on using the CLI with the board but I haven't seen much on tools to help you develop your own code but I could be wrong. Is the best way way to implement and test my own code to edit the xWR68xx demo code with the aspects I want to change or start from scratch and include the necessary modules/libraries?

Hi Jacob,

Have you had a chance to look at the Out of Box demo documentation which is part of mmWave SDK. This calls out various processing blocks and references source code implementation for the same.

Please check the docs folder under SDK download and let us know if that helps.

Hi Vaibhav,

you are referring to the mmwave_sdk_module_documentation/mmwave_sdk_user_guide? I have read both these but haven't found specific information on Custom Data Path Manager/Data Path Chain implementation.

Hi Jacob,

You can start with one of the labs in the industrial tool box that is closest to your application and modify the algorithm based on your application.

You may need to look into the code to understand the current implementation.

For advance development, you can explore using DCA1000(https://www.ti.com/tool/DCA1000EVM) and MMWAVE Studio (https://software-dl.ti.com/ra-processors/esd/MMWAVE-STUDIO/latest/index_FDS.html)

Hi Yogesh,

Thank you for the advice I will do that as well as get more familiar with the modules/data structures. I don't think the DCA1000/MMWAVE Studio would work for my application because all the processing of the data must be done on the chip for my application.
