AWR1443BOOST: hardware trigger

Hi,

Now I amm trying to use hardware trigger mode of AWR1443BOOST. First we need to connect J6.2 (gruound pin) and J5.9 (SYNC_IN pin) with an external MCU. Just as the following pictures show.

The following picture shows how I configure the harware trigger mode in mmwave studio.

Before I clicked Trigger Frame, I had akready connect radar with an external MCU. Then, I clicked Trigger Frame but nothing happened. Then, in ouput window, an error happened as following picture shows.

It seems there is no adc data captured by DCA1000. I don't know which setup is wrong and could you tell me how to solve this error?

question 1:I have read that thread, but it seems impossible for me to remove some components on DCA1000. Other option is to remove the SYNC IN connection to the 60pin HD connector on the AWR EVM itself, but I am confused. How to remove the SYNC IN connection to the 60pin HD connector?

question 2:Could you tell me is there another method that can solve this error?

You can remove the R62 on AWR1443BOOST which is connected the sync_in to 60pin connector.

question 1

Is it possible to cut off one of cables of 60pin connector instead of removing R62?

If it is possible, how to do it and which cable need to be cut off?

question 2

If I use AWR1642EVM or AWR1843EVM instead of AWR1443EVM, then I select hardware trigger in mmwave stuodio. In this case, will the same error occur?

Hello User,

As pointed out by Chris, you will have to remove resistor R62 on the AWR EVM so as to remove the SYNC IN connection to the 60pin HD connector. AWR1642 and AWR1843 have the same setting. For reference, you can also check the respective schematics.
