IWR6843: Will using beam-forming to steer/sweep the area improve the range / angular resolution ?

Part Number: IWR6843

My  understanding is that beam-forming to steer/sweep the area will only improve the signal to noise ratio.
But does not help in range / angular resolution.
since range resolution = c / 2B, and angular resolution in the center is 2/N radian.

Is the above statement correct ?
If we want more range / angular   resolution, the only way is to increase the bandwidth  and increase the number of " virtual"  antennas.

  • HI, Keith:

You are right.  TX beam steering only improve the max range.   The range/angular resolution is not improved.  Actually the angle resolution is even reduced, because the number of visual antenna array is actually reduced when you send multiple TX together to improve the max range.

    Best,
