AWR1843BOOST: RF LDO Bypass Enable and PA LDO I/P

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1843BOOST

Hi,

In mmwave studio user guide.pdf, I was told RF LDO bypass shouldn't be used on EVMs.

But in AWR1843BOOST and IWR1843BOOST single-chip mmwave sensing solution user guide.pdf, we should select 'RF LDO Bypass Enable' and 'PA LDO I/P Disable' options.

So I am confused. When I configure AWR1843BOOST by using mmwave studio, should I select 'RF LDO Bypass Enable' and 'PA LDO I/P Disable' options?

Thank you.

  • Hello ,

The Interface Control Document  explains each of the APIs in detail ()

In the section "AWR_RF_LDO_BYPASS_SB" explain the usage of the LDO BYPASS and PA LDO DISABLE bits. Basically it depends on the RF supply voltage and PA LDO supply provided on the board.

The statement in the mmwave studio user guide seems to be outdated, when the EVMs had 1.3V RF voltage. You are right that 1843BOOST has 1V RF supply and now the BYPASS LDO should be used.

    Regards,

    Vivek
