IWR6843ISK-ODS: About the VPP(Pin L13) power rail on IWR6843ISK-ODS EVM.

Part Number: IWR6843ISK-ODS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843

Hi,

I find the VPP(Pin L13) of IWR6843 is connected to a 60pin connector (J2), so if the EVM is working on modular mode with USB power, it looks there is no power is conneted to this pin.

In datasheet of IWR6843, the statement of this power is

Voltage supply for fuse chain

there is no further information of this power rail. I wonder the detailed function of this power rail and under what condition do I have to use it. please help to clarify.

Regards.

  • Hello,

Please check the EVM user's guide for Additional ports for this signal.

    Thank you,

  • Hi I have studied the section, but it does not describe the usage and how to use this VPP rail.

  • Hello,

VPP pin is used for secure version of the silicon (Which has higher security infrastructure such as encryptions and keys), Currently Secure version of the silicon is sold under NDA, If you plan to use this silicon get in touch with TI local TI sales/Field application team.

GP (General purpose device) will not have encryption keys, encryption keys would be associated with the Secure version of the silicon. This would be during the secure flashing and booting process. Currently there is not much information available on this variant publicly. If you need more information you may want to get in touch with TI local TI sales/Field application team.

Hardware wise, If you would like to be future proof on this end, you may want to provide 1.7V supply on the VPP pin, otherwise you could leave it floating.

    Thanks and regards,
