What performance is affected by the number of patches on antenna of iwr6843 60Ghz.
Affect horizontal angle? Vertial angle?
What is the principle of this affect?
Thanks.

Hello user6060721,
It's hard to provide Antenna design details in E2E forum, You may have to refer to Antenna design books.
In nut shell more elements added along with inter element transmission line in series fed patch array will improve the gain of the antenna in the elevation direction.
This will reduce the field of view in the elevation direction. More elements you add in the series antenna gain will starts improving and elevation field of view will start reducing, However we cannot keep adding patches indefinitely to improve the gain, at some point losses will dominate and you would see diminishing returns.
Typically for wall mount applications to reduce the ground reflection close to the radar causes clutter, To avoid this, It's desirable to have higher antenna gain in the elevation direction (Narrower FOV in elevation). This topology helps in achieving that.
Thanks and regards,
