TMCS1100: does has comparison part for

Part Number: TMCS1100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMCS1101

Hi

Can TI TMCS1100 be replaced ACEINNA MCA1101-50-5?

Or there are other ICs that can replace, thanks.

  • Hello Rock,

Thanks for your interest in TI products.  The specifications for the TMCS1100 are definitely different than those of the MCA1101.  So your design constraints will determine if both can be used or if one is more suitable for your application. As far as sensitivity error, the TMCS1100 has a lower typical sensitivity error.  Also, the TMCS1100 comes in a smaller package, but at the price of lower working isolation voltage and lower current sensing range. The other key difference is the bandwidth with the TMCS1100 limited to 80kHz.

Aside from the TMCS1100, the only other similar product we offer right now is the TMCS1101.  This device is essentially the same as the TMCS1100 without a reference pin. TMCS1100 has its own internal circuitry for providing a reference at midsupply for the bidirectional devices.

  • Hi Patrick,

Does TI have the same solution to replace MCA1101? thanks.

  • Hello Rock,

We do not have an anisotropic magneto resistive current sensor like the MCA1101.  Our closest solution is the TMCS1100 and TMCS1101. Alternatively, TI does have a product line of isolation amplifiers.  However, those will not be a direct replacement of the MCA1101 either.
