AWR1843BOOST: MRR and SRR Angular resolution

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642BOOST

Hello,

It is mentioned in the below document that the angular resolution of the USRR frame is approximately 15 degrees.

What are the angular resolutions of the SRR and MRR frames from the automotive toolbox projects?

regards,

Mohamed

  • Hi,

The angular resolution is defined by the antenna array. Please see following App Note for more details:

Since you are using an AWR1843BOOST you are probably interested by the MRR angular resolution. The SRR demo runs on AWR1642BOOST.

in the MRR mode all the 3 TX are enabled at the same time. This results in a virtual antenna array that is actually the physical antenna array defined by the physical Rx antennae.

So, the angular azimuth resolution in MRR mode is about half of what it is for USRR mode. This is around 30deg.

    thank you
    Cesar
