HDC1080: Any reason for the stencil separated into 2 parts?

Hi Team 

HDC1080's datasheet shows the shape of stencil in p.29.

The customer is wondering if there's any reason that the stencil is separated to 2 part instead of 1? 

Is that trying to avoid interference with vias on left and right side ?

And is it necessary to separate the stencil if we add the via?

    Hi Hung Ching Hsu,

    Thank you for your post.

    The HDC1080 pad is split in our recommended stencil because our packaging team has found that it improves the planarity and reliability of the HDC1080 mounting. There is no worry about interfering with the vias. I would still recommend using the split-pad even if they omit the vias.
