TDC7201-ZAX-EVM: TDC7201-ZAX-EVM

Part Number: TDC7201-ZAX-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC7201

Hi team,

My customer is using TDC7201-ZAX-EVM board. When setting up the external clock reference, the manual refers to a Jumper JP2 which does not appear on the board.I think it's a typo error,Jp2 should be JP3,right?

in Sect. 5.2, part 2 where they discuss the JP2 jumper for the clock source.
The discussion for the JP2 jumper is exactly the same as for the JP1 jumper while JP1 is
for the voltage source and JP2 is for the clock reference. Thus, the discussion about the 2 jumpers
should be different.

Could you please tell me what the correct content is?

  • Yanni,

There appears to be a discrepancy between the jumper description and schematic of the TDC7201-ZAX-EVM. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The two jumpers (J1 and J3) are for VCC to supply the VDD rails of the TDC7201, and have nothing to do with the clock reference. It is likely that an older version of the EVM had a JP2 jumper to switch between the on-board versus external clock source.

To enable the external clock source connected to J6 (EXT_CLOCK), you need to move the 0-Ohm resistor from position R18 to position R17. This will also disconnect the on-board clock source from the CLOCK_TDC_CAL pin to avoid clock collision.
