Chip cascade #3

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843, AWR2243
Thank you very much for your reply.I was alone with the SPY.In my experiment, I used three computers and three chip boards to simultaneously collect data in different locations.I need to synchronize all three chips. Do I need to add a microprocessor hardware to trigger the clock signal?

  • Hi,

From your older thread I understand that you are using AWR1843 devices.

AWR1843 devices can be frame synchronized using hardware trigger. The clock can't be synchronized for these devices. You would need to use AWR1243P or AWR2243 devices if you want to achieve clock synchronization (this is also called cascade. Cascade synchronization is not possible with AWR1843)

    thank you

    Cesar

  • Thank you for your reply.Excuse me, since 1843 cannot be cascaded, 2243 and 1243 can be cascaded to achieve synchronization. So does the cascaded mode need to be cascaded through the chip to work, and must be installed on a chip?Is it possible for 1243 and 2243 to be distributed so that time is received in different locations?

  • May I ask, can the 1843 radar be used for distributed radar imaging?Or can this board be used alone as radar imaging? Can multiple 1843 chips find a pin inside that can connect multiple chips to external MCU or microprocessor to realize hardware trigger?

    Hi,
In order for cascaded structure to work all the sensors must use the same 40MHz clock. This will be difficult to achieve if the sensors are not placed in close proximity.
    thank you
