TMP117: CM Calibration process, Certification

Part Number: TMP117

I want to make sure the CM is calibrating the TMP11t correctly, is there a preferred process they should be doing?

Do they build a test chamber or simply set the thermostat in the production floor to a certain temperature, when reached calibrate?

Second question:

Is there a certification we can get?

We are measuring core body temperature, how do we certify that our device is accurate with TMP117?

thank you for your help

  • Hi Jazz,

It's generally not feasible to calibrate a temperature sensor in production, and it's especially difficult to do it for a device as accurate as TMP117. If you calibrate your TMP117s to room temperature, you will make them less accurate by introducing the variation in room temperature. The only way we can recommend to verify our temperature sensors is to submerge them in a calibration bath. This is just not practical for a production environment.

You can request our NIST Calibration statement on the TMP117 product page. www.ti.com/.../TMP117

    thanks,
