Part Number: AWR1243BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM,

i follow the quick start (https://www.ti.com/lit/ml/spruik7/spruik7.pdf?ts=1600962267778&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Ftool%252FMMWAVE-STUDIO). to run demo code on  mmWave Studio 2.1.0 on AWR1243BOOST + DCA1000EVM.

Everything looks right except the  `SPI disconnection error` and I cannot pass through.  Anyone can help to check? Thanks.

  • Hi,

I don't see the FTDI COM ports in the Device Manager

Did you install the FTDI drivers on the PC?

    Thank you

    cesar

  • Thanks, It is correct I have NOT  install the FTDI driver. However, I find my installation (per the user maunal 2.3 User interfaces and drivers) FAIL for some reason, Could you help to check on that as well?

    Thanks.

    Appendix

    0. I have installed XDS Emulation Software (EMUPack) already.

    1. update driver via device manager

    3. the folder, i have install dpinst64.exe

    6. after restarted Window PC, still not recognized

  • You should try to use this FTDI driver installation package instead:

    https://software-dl.ti.com/ra-processors/esd/MMWAVE-SDK/03_03_00_03/exports/ftdi_driver_2_12.zip

Follow the driver update steps you previously used, but point to this package instead.

Make sure the USB cable from your PC to the DCA1000 is connected to the J1 "RADAR_FTDI" port. Consider providing a separate power supply just to the DCA1000 and set the power switch to the "DC_JACK_5V_IN" position.

On the BOOST EVM, make sure the CAN/SPI switch is set to the SPI position. This is found just to the right of the 60-pin connector.

    Regards,
    Kyle

  • hi kyle,

    thanks for your kind reply

    1. I try that ftdi_driver_2_12 one from the link you provide, but FAIL again.

    2. I check the  (a) J1 "RADAR_FTDI" port   (b) "DC_JACK_5V_IN" switch (c) CAN/SPI switch is set to the SPI and it work as your expect.

However I still cannot make it so far

    Appendix:

    1. step 1 'Set' FAIL

    *****************************************************************************************************************

    2. step 2 'Connect' FAIL

  • Hi,

Number of devices detected shows 0. Can you check your FTDI driver is installed correctly and shows up in Device Manager

    Regards,

    Kaushal
