Hi,

I am going to use TDC1000 to measure the level of liquid in a tank for biomedical application, I am searching for the source code of the firmware of TIDA00322 for TMS320F28035 but I can't find it. Where can I find the software example? Another question is if it is possible to migrate this firmware to a bluetooth mcu like CC2640R2L.

Hi Stefano,

The firmware is the same for the TDC1000-C2000EVM and can be found on the TIDA00322 page under the "Software" heading. Click TDC1000-C2000EVM GUI v1.2.0.83 (TIDA-00322) (Rev. B) to download the TDC1000-C2000EVM GUI and once the GUI is installed, go to the directory where the GUI is installed and in the "Firmware" directory you can find the correct firmware for the C2000.

Hi, I have checked the firmware example you suggested, and in the source code there is also the managing of the component LMP91400 that is not present in the schematic of TIDA-00322, so I think it is related to another board. I will wait for your answer about the bluetooth mcu.

It looks like the C2000 and Bluetooth MCUs are pretty close in functionality. You should be able to port code from the example firmware to the CC2640R2L.

I have also a question about TUSS4470, do you think that this one should be better than TDC1000 in sensing water level? Our application must detect the level through a surface thick 3 or 4 centimeters.

Stefano,

TUSS4470 is our latest ultrasonic parts. It has the dynamic range to measure high accuracy with an integrated log amp. TDC1000 and TUSS4470 are both good devices for level sensing. The details would depend on the size of the transducer, accuracy. This certainly needs to be prototyped.

In regards to thickness of 3 or 4 cm. A stronger driver would help transmit the echo and more testing and prototyping would be needed to test the receive signal.
