DRV5056: Changing through sensitivity options

Part Number: DRV5056

Hi,

being a new "user" to the world of electronics, I can't get my head on prettty common things (or at least I think so)

How is one of this sensors "using one option" rather than another one? Does it change automatically?

Is there a different phisical product for each option? Or maybe it depends on the input voltage or something you need to change manually

(sorry for my bad english, I hope it's clear anyways)

  • Dennis,

Thanks for your question.  Each device will have a fixed sensitivity.  This is selected by which package variant is ordered.

The A options will have a fixed temperature compensation to help correct for the drift of the magnet.  The Z options have a flat temperature response.  Each sensitivity should appear as a separate orderable allowing you to pick the range that best suits your application. For example DRV5056A3 will have a sensitivity of 50 mV/mT while DRV5056A6 will have a sensitivity of 100 mV/mT.

    Thanks,

    Scott
