IWR1642BOOST: How to Modify Config File For Gtrack Parameters

Hi!

I am trying to edit my config file for the traffic monitoring lab to automatically set the boundary and static boxes Gtrack parameters. Is this possible? Also what is the difference between both of the types of boxes (static and boundary) and what do they do?

Is it also possible to edit the config file to automatically update the scene geometry and plotting area parameters?

Hi Jake,

The configuration process for this demo is described in the following guide available in the demo folder:

Gtrack Tuning for Traffic Monitoring Overview

The demo does not support auto setup of them boundary boxes. I would like to emphasize that this demo is deprecated and replaced with the newer 68xx / 18xx Traffic Monitoring Demo in recent releases of the industrial toolbox.

Hi Nitin,

Yes thank you I am aware it is deprecated, however I already own an IWR1642BOOST so this is the only option for me.

I've highlighted below in the traffic monitoring user guide that they say that the gtrack parameters can be set up in the CFG file, I wish to do this and just want to know how to set up both the Gtrack boundary and static boxes if I wish to.

Are you please able to also give a brief explanation as to how the boundary and static boxes work (i.e. what does the boxes do to the data points found within those zones)?

Hi Jake,

The snapshot above shows a TI Design document which provides explanation for all these parameters in the design guide under scenery parameters, including how the different boundary boxes work. Please go through the document and let us know if you need more clarification.

Jake - you should refer to the TI design document and gtrack document which explains these parameters. You can also refer the *cli.c file in the src code to understand how the parameters in the *.cfg file are parsed.

The boundary boxes define the valid area for tracking to occur. The static boxes define the area where tracked objects are expected to be not moving (ex in front of the stop light). Try the demo and you will see the behaviors.
