MMWCAS-DSP-EVM: battery supply suggestion for 12V-5A to power MMWCAS-DSP-EVM

greetings,

As we plan to place the mmW board on a robot, and make it work with portable battery. While most battery support 12V-3A, and 5A is pretty hard to find and was told it is bit dangerous in portable battery. Does TI has any solution for battery-power can support 12V-5A?

I did try my 12V-3A battery, unfortunately the DSP would not bootup with 3A current.

Hello Jet,

I'm not clear on what you are asking for. From the EVM User Guide: The typical power source is 12-V, 5-A Advantech Power supply P/N: 96PSA-A60W12V1-1.. so I'm not surprised it will not run from a 3A source.

Are you asking for a 12V/5A battery recommendation? Or are you asking for a battery-charger solution that can be used with a 12V/5A battery?

Since TI does not produce batteries, we are not able to provide a recommendation. Please research your battery requirements with a battery manufacturer or supplier, they would be the experts here to provide a solution.
