IWR1642BOOST: Config File for Long Range Traffic Monitoring

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST

Hi everyone :)

I've applied the following config file (long-range) to my IWR1642BOOST EVM and placed it next to the road to attain data and am unfortunately only capable of detecting vehicles at approximately 30-40 metres away from the device in comparison to the 185 m expected by the long-range config. Could this also have something to do with the parameters that I've also linked below? (I am simply after the velocity, range and angle data of passing vehicles)

  • Hello

Can you please use the same chirp configuration on OOB demo and check:

    1. If you see detection point for objects of interest.

    2. Try CFAR setting to tune and better the detection.

    3. Make sure the chirp configuration is capable of detecting that distance.

    4. Check the FFT plots on OOB demo t see peaks for objects of interest.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

Which cfg file are you loading? You should ensure that the EVM is mounted at the height and angle as described in the reference design documents otherwise the range may not be the same.
