AWR6843ISK: Difficulty connecting to the sensor to run the onboard demo

Hello all,

We just received this EVM and we are trying to run the pre-loaded demo using the cloud-based visualizer. When we try to connect the sensor, it is detecting the following serial ports through USB:

And the visualizer is not able to connect to the board to see the output data. When I look at the User Guide, it seems like there are different serial ports to be expected:

I have a few questions here:

1. Are the ports being recognized on my machine correct and if so, which one is for commands and which one for data?

2. How can I successfully connect to the cloud based visualizer? Do I need to load a demo onto the board, or should it run with a pre-loaded demo?

3. What ports do I need to use to flash a new demo to the board?

Can you please help us understand after you received the EVM in hand what documentation did you follow and how did you find it?

Trying to understand why you have not been able to discover the documents we have created and update regularly.

This will be very helpful to understand your journey and improve it for better.

Hi Vaibhav,

We started by trying to connect to the cloud visualizer located at: https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/mmwave/mmWave_Demo_Visualizer/ver/3.5.0/

Upon loading this demo, we tried to follow the startup instructions, which led me to install the SDK on a Windows machine. I opened the user guide located here: software-dl.ti.com/.../mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf

According to the user guide, the EVM should have an out-of-the-box demo ready to run, and so I tried connecting it via USB (there is only a USB connection, no extra power connection as is mentioned in the user guide), but here is where I am having confusion:

Both the user guide and the startup guide on the cloud visualizer mention that the ports required include XDS110, however I am seeing ports titled "Silicon Labs" and they do not include XDS110 in the port names. In addition, the cloud visualizer does not connect to these ports.

Is there something I might be missing here?

I found this user guide on the sensor's page, and after configuring the sensor for standalone mode, I was able to connect successfully.
