CCS/AWR1843: The TX isolation of AWR1843

Hi,

We found TX2,3 still transmit signal when we turn-off the TX2,3 and only use TX1,and it has affected the TX1 pattern.Is the 'backoff' in picture means 'cannot turn-off the TX channel completely'? 

We would like to know the TX isolation of AWR1843 in lines/ports/balls, could you please share the data ?

    Hi,

    Are you using the mmWave Studio to configure the sensor?

    The TX should be disabled in Channel Cfg as shown below.

    The Tx backoff is used to reduce the Tx power and not to turn off the Tx completely.

    Hello Eleven,

    As Cesar mentioned , turning OFF a Tx is separate from backoff, they are not the same. Apart from the channel config that Cesar pointed you to, where you can permanently turn OFF a particular Tx , you can turn OFF a Tx in the chirp config API also. So when you say you are keeping Tx 2 and Tx3 OFF how are you turning them OFF?

    Even when you turn a particular Tx OFF there would be Tx - Tx antenna coupling which would depend on the antenna design. Which board are you using for this experiment? is it TI EVM or your own board? Also how are you measuring the signal level on the other two Tx?

    Hello Eleven,

    To your question about Tx - Tx isolation number, at device+package level the Tx1-Tx2 and Tx1-Tx3 isolation number is better than 30dB.

    Hi all:

    we tested and found that the switch leackage is 40dB at AWR1843 Tx chanel turned off.
