Hi team,
My customer is using OPT3001 for their design, and found it restart when running the ESD test.
Air discharge 4kV, 6kV, 8kV, all would restart.
Could you help to provide some advice for this?

Hi James,
The OPT ESD ratings are in the datasheet: 6.2 ESD Ratings and seems like this would exceed depending on their ESD model used.
Best,

Hi Alex,
In normal case for OPT3001, what should do to pass the ESD test?
Could we add the TVS or other component to help with it?
Thanks.
Hi James,
This is dependent on the system. Since this is air discharge if it is coupling through the pins when yes TVS could help here. If it is coupling to the IC another way then casing or cover may help if the device is directly exposed in the current test.
Best,
Alex
