AWR2243BOOST: Availability of examples on the REX site

Part Number: AWR2243BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243, AWR1642, AWR1243, AWR1843

I realise the part is new, but I went on the dev.ti.com/tirex/ site and it isn't listed yet, is there a timeframe when there will b e example code on the site?

Regards

George

  • Hi,

Unlike some of the other devices in the automotive mmwave family (AWR1843, AWR1642) The AWR1243 and AWR2243 are sensor only devices. This means that the processing has to be performed by a host processor. There is no processor integrated in the AWR2243 and these devices are not considered "programmable" as stand alone sensors. This is the reason why the mmwave SDK does not support these devices.

If you would like to further investigate the RF performance of the device, you would need a DCA1000 card to capture raw data and post process the raw data with mmWave Studio integrated matlab or other high level language.

The device firmware package that support this device also includes some examples. However I think you would need a DCA1000 to run those examples as well

    C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_02_01_05_03\ti\example\mmWaveLink_SingleChip_Example\readme.txt

The devpack mentioned in the readme.txt refers to the MMWAVE_DEVPACK board that was available in the past. THis board allowed to configure the sensor using the mmWave studio. It is obsolete since it was replaced by DCA1000 which also has the capability to capture raw data

    thank you

  • Thanks Cesar, I have purchased a DCA1000 so I will look for examples with that.
