AWR6843ISK: Connect UART in 60-pin connector to 10-pin Molex Header

Hello,

I need to stablish serial connection between the sensor and a device that has a 10-pin Molex Header. For this purpose, I am using the configuration of the UART muxed to the 60-pin connector and supplying power to the board by the mini-USB port (using the serial in the USB port is not an option).
I am planning on making my own cable as the only data lines I need are Tx, Rx and GND. I thought of using a SAMTEC cable (or directly getting the QTH-030-01-L-D-A connector) and modifying it for my purposes.
Would this work and are there any risks I need to be aware of?

If you could provide your implementation details with signal names in a block diagram format it would be helpful to understand the requirements?

Thank you. This helps to understand the the setup. I guess you will control SOP lines and reset lines from the EVM itself.

One caution is RS232 lines should not be driven from external interface when VIO supply is not present. Please see below note in the datasheet.

This may happen during power re-cycling the mmWave device while proprietary device is connected to RS232 and power up. This might result in incorrect boot mode configuration or reliability problem to the sensor.
