DRV425: limitation of calculation tool 'DRV425 Bus Bar Application Magnetic Field Calculator'

Hello,

in your calculation tool 'DRV425 Bus Bar Application Magnetic Field Calculator' the maximum Bus Bar Height (y-dimension) is limited to 12,7mm.

Is there a technical reason for this? Would the calculation be incorrect for higher bus-bars (16...20mm)?

    Hello User,

    The reason is we limited our simulations on the thickness.  You can use the FEMM and the script I developed.  Reminder this is a 2D simulation and is for slot.  Depending on the full dimensions the hole vs slot can differ.  We should have limited the width as well.  A simulation is always best information before making any prototype.  FEMM is free but other 3D modeling software will cost.
