TIDEP-01012: raw data format of TIDEP-01012

Part Number: TIDEP-01012
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWCAS-RF-EVM

Hi team,

I would like to know about raw data format of TIDEP-01012 (MMWCAS-RF-EVM + MMWCAS-DSP-EVM). I achieved the raw data from the TIDEP-01012 with mmWave Studio. I ran the lua script for MIMO configuration, which is provided by TI. The data I got are as shown in figure 1. I got some binary file as you can see, and I would like to know each raw data (Fig. 2). I checked lua script, and found the frame/chirp configuration is as below:

Number of frame: 10

Number of chirp per frame: 64

ADC samples per chirp: 256

in this case, I think data format of master raw data is as shown in figure 3. Is it correct? And are the data format of the slave 1, 2, 3 same as the one of the master raw data?

If I am misunderstanding, please correct me.

Best regards,

Kawaguchi

  • Hello Kawaguchi-San,

For the data format, please refer to the below thread. I agree we do need to release this more formally :

I believe this might prove to be useful for you

  • Hi Ishita san,

Thank you for your reply. I read the thread but I am still confusing. According to the thread, I think figure 3 I showed might show an correct data format. Is it correct? And what is the “Loop” in the thread you mentioned. I really would like to know the data format of master_0000_data.bin and also each slave_data.bin because I would like to make an azimuth-elevation heat map by using the raw data from TIDEP-01012 with Matlab. To achieve the heat map, I need to know the data format.

I appreciate your support in advance.

    Best regards,

    Kawaguchi

  • Hello Kawaguchi-San,

Yes, the format that was highlighted in the thread sent by me previously and your figure 3 is apparently the same. The only addition in the thread is the chirp loops that you have also highlighted. That corresponds to "No of Chirp Loops" parameter in mmWave studio which is used in case you want to repeat the same chirps in a single frame.

And yes, the format of master and slave devices will be same.

Please let us know if you need further clarifications. Happy to help.

    Regards,

    Ishita
