TDC1000-C2000EVM: About transducer mounting and assembly issue.

Part Number: TDC1000-C2000EVM

Hello,

I'd like to ask a question about transducer assembly.

I followed the transducer assembly sequence from SNAA266A and worked well .

But if I didn't hot glue to transducers then the result was like below.

Test condition : Empty tank

There is a stop signal. Is this abnormal operation of transducer due to no glue to transducer?

This was happened when connected transducer to evm with out bonding it to tank.

I'd like to assembly the transducer mechanically without hot glue nor silicon. Is it possible just CYA bonging without glue/silicon and mechanical assembly of transducer?

This is CYA bonding + hot glue to transducer.

1. empty

2. some water

  • Hello,

It appears that in the application the transducer is expected to be glued or attached mechanically with rigidity. This is a typical use case. As far as mechanical stability goes this needs to be experimented on your side as the recommendation is that the transducer is mounted with mechanical stability such that there is no leakage. Any leakage can result in reduced or false pulse and this is very system dependent. Your initial results looks positive CYA bonding and I do notice that at 25 uS there is a blip and that maybe due to the ground noise on the probe ?

    I hope this helps.
