Part Number: IWR6843AOP

Hi community member,

My customer has tested 3D people count demo under conditions of ceiling installation.
The GUI is displayed as pointcloud but is not reacted Gtrack.
The GUI screenshot is as below:

How to ensure that mmwave radar(IWR6843AOP)  can detect all areas from the ceiling?

Best regards.

  • Hello

Please help us identify what distance/Zone do you think the detection is not working?

  • Hi Vaibhav,

    Thank you for your reply!

That's situation is the area of X the positive coordinate and Y the positive coordinate.

This screenshot is the area of X the negative coordinate and Y the negative coordinate.

This screenshot is the area of X the positive coordinate and Y the negative coordinate.

As these picture, the sensor can detect the people in these area,

But, in the 1st situation case, it can't be detect people in Y the negative coordinate.

    Best regards.

  • Hi Cruijff,

I want to make sure that you are using the correct demo for the target use-case. You mentioned that the customer is using the "3D People Counting Demo" in Ceiling mount condition? Please note that the 3D People Counting demo is designed for Wall mount applications only.

For Ceiling mount application, please use the 68xx - Overhead People Counting Demo as shown below. This demo also uses 3D detection and is specifically designed for Ceiling Mount use-case. You will also need to select the "Overhead People Counting" option in the Visualizer when using this demo.

Please re-run your tests with the Overhead People Counting Demo using the setup instructions provided in the user guide and let us know if you face any issues.

    Regards
