AWR1642BOOST: Problem connecting to Auxilliary data port

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST

When I follow the instructions for the 'out of the box' demo, the kit does not connect. It connects to the User/application port, but not the Auxiliary port. Why could that be? I have not moved any straps on the PCB and I use the suggested baud rate. And I have tried two different PCs, one with Widows 10 and one with Windows 7. Please help!!

  • Hi,

If I understand correctly, in the PC device manager you only see  one COM port?

Can you please share a snapshot of the COM ports in Device Manager

    thank you

    Cesar

  • I see both com ports in Device Manager. Now I've tried to to flash with new version srrdemo_16xx.bin as the kit came with SDK version 2 and not 3.5. Now the viewer does not connect to any of the ports. Should I try a different bin file?

  • Hi,

If you are using the latest version of the Automotive Toolbox (v 3.2.0) you will need SDK 3.5 for SRR demo. This is the correct file.

Please follow the steps in AutoSrr_usersguide.pdf to run the demo. The COM ports are configured in the matlab GUI.

Please note that the SRR demo has a custom GUI. It does not use the mmWave SDK Visualizer GUI

    thank you

    Cesar
