Hi, i recently started using the IWR1843BOOST device, using the pins 15, 17 and 19 on the J5 connectors to activate de SOP lines 0-2.
Is there a way to power cycle the device through one of the connectors (J5 - J6) ?
Thanks in advance ,
- Louis

Hi Louis,
For the power cycling you may have to feed the external power on the Vin signal. And you may have to install a resistor shown below, And care need to be taken not to feed the power on the power jack otherwise two voltage source may short and damage the board.
Also to change the boot mode you would need NRESET signal as well, this can be found in J5 connector AR_NRST_MCU which is wired "OR" with AR_NRST (Reset signal)

Hi Chethan,
Thank you for the answer.
Just to be clear, i would need to provide power only to the VIN 5V, or do i need to add 3.3V power as well ?
Also, isn't the resistor you highlighted part of the IWR1843BOOST assembly ?
Lastly, if i understand correctly, i could by pass the power cycling to change the boot mode if I use the AR_NRST_MCU pin on the J5 connector ?
As shown in the SDK user guide, some changes to the config need a power cycle to take effect, which is the reason why i would like to power cycle the device using the provided connectors.
Thank you for you time,
- Louis
Hello Louis,
1) Vin 5V is connected in parallel to external 5V Input power jack, Hence you need to connect only Vin 5V only. 3.3V would be derived from this.
Please note, during this condition power to P6 Jack should not be provided.
2) R115 is DNP (Do not populate) by default power is through P6 connector hence, this resistor is not installed, But provision is provided in case customer wants to change it
3) Yes, you could change the boot mode by using SOP lines and NRESET lines.
Thanks and regards,
