LIS3MDL, LSM303 magnetometer noise and temperature stability

Hi, we've developed a stationary digital compass for sensor monitoring application using the LIS3MDL.

We've found that temperature swings affect the heading reading, roughly in the order of 1 degree celsius = 1 degree of heading, depending on heading angle.

I read in a post somewhere that the LSM303 uses a different method of sensing that may be able to negate temperature effect. Is this true?

Secondly, if we would like the most stability and accuracy possible over the long term and across temperature variations, what is TI's top-tier IC for this application?

Thanks.
