PGA460-Q1: Burst pulse meaning?

Part Number: PGA460-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA460,

Hi

I am trying to figure out which rate I can use the pga460 at different speeds of a moving object. Therefore I need to know the length of the signal.
In the GUI for the PGA460-Q1 it is possible to set  Burst Pulses. However I have not been able to figure what that implies and at the moment I don’t have access to the chip to test for an answer...
Is one burst pulse just one period at the specified frequency or is one burst pulse X periods? Or something completely else?

Best regards

Ben

  • Hi Benjamin,

One burst pulse is one period of the waveform at the specified frequency.  Figure 1 in the PGA460 datasheet shows the relationship between pulse count, driving frequency, and the resulting waveforms on OUTA and OUTB.
