DCA1000EVM: I can't get raw data.

Part Number: DCA1000EVM

I refer to this.

The sensor configuration is as follows.

When you press DCA1000ARM, the following statement is displayed.

[14:32:23] [RadarAPI]:
[14:32:23] Start Record command : Success
[14:32:23]
[14:32:23] No LVDS data
[14:32:23]
[14:32:23] No Header
[14:32:23]
[14:32:23] Record stop is done successfully
[14:32:30] [RadarAPI]: ar1.StartFrame()
[14:32:30] [RadarAPI]: Status: Passed
[14:32:30] Frame start async event received!
[14:32:31] Frame End async event received!
[14:32:31] [RadarAPI]: Frame Ended
[14:32:40] [RadarAPI]: ar1.StartMatlabPostProc("C:\\ti\\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\\mmWaveStudio\\PostProc\\adc_data.bin")
[14:32:40] [RadarAPI]: No of files Captured: 1, Total no of frames for each device : 8

Raw data cannot be saved as a binary file because there is no LVDS data.
what should I do?

Also, I don't know the numerical value of the Frame part.

  • Hello User,

Is this the first time you're working with DCA1000 EVM? Have you followed our user guide on this closely?

-Also, after approximately how much time do you "trigger frames" after pressing the DCA1000 ARM button? The frames should be triggered no later than 2 sec otherwise DCA1000 times out and that is why you get this message.

-Please make sure your physical setup is complete. You can refer to the DCA1000 Quick Start Guide to confirm your physical setup.

-Ensure the blue Samtec ribbon cable is connected from the AWR EVM to the DCA1000EVM. Also, which XWR variant are you using here?

-Also make sure the Ethernet cable is connected from the DCA1000EVM to your PC.

    - What is the version of FPGA firmware you're using here? Please ensure the latest version i.e. 2.8 is flashed

-You can also try running the Capture Demo script that is provided in the mmWave Studio v2.1.1 installation. This script is found at this file location:

C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_00_00\mmWaveStudio\Scripts. You should run the "DataCaptureDemo_xWR.lua" file.

Please let us know if any of the above solutions help

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • I'm sorry, the waveform was output.

However, the raw data is not saved as a binary file.
    Why?

The save destination is set as adc_data.bin in the following folder.
The one in the blue line was saved when the raw data was acquired.

  • Hello,

Could you please send us the studio log?

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • The studio log is here.

  • Hello User,

What is the firmware version you're using? I see you're using SOP 2 here, but there is no log of firmware download. Also, there is no profile, chirp or data path configuration in your log.

Could you please outline the exact sequence you're following to capture data here? Have you followed mmWave_studio_user_guide closely?

    Regards,

    Ishita
