IWR6843: is this suitable for general high bay lighting motion detection?

Hi team,

is this mmWave device suitable for simpler high bay lighting motion sensing?

the light is made of all metal. would this be an issue?

the range desired is 40ft minimum.

if suitable, which type of IWR6843 (AOP, ISK, ISK-ODS) is most suitable?

    Kevin,

         Yes, IWR6xxx family would be suitable for this application. 
    Care need to be taken such that Antenna field of view should not interact with the metal structures of the lighting.

    Probably separate housing may be needed or housing design need to designed in such a way that, it shouldn’t interact with Antenna.

    Type of antenna dependents on application. For example wall mount application ISK boards could be used. For overhead ceiling mount applications ODS or AOP could be used. 40ft could be stretch for AOP/ODS configurations at the edge of the field of view.
