I have also read in the lauterbach script that some registers have to be removed in order for the JTAG to work over the HD connector, could you confirm if that is true ?

Hello Bilal,

I am unable to access the Lauterbach link you have shared. Does the adapter use only the 4 JTAG pins (TMS, TCK, TDI, TDO) ? The HD connector has many other signals and you need make sure those signals don't conflict with Lauterbach emulator.

Also you need to disconnect the JTAG connection from the onboard XDS110 present on the AWR1642 ODS EVM but removing the series resister.

Hello Bilal,

The resister R70, R30, R69, R71 connect the JTAG lines to the onboard XDS110 emulator. You can refer to the schematics and assembly drawings on the webpage ( https://www.ti.com/tool/AWR1642BOOST-ODS)  to know the exact physical location of these resisters on the PCB.

We have removed the resistors but still have the same problem, we have also opened a support case with lauterbach to see that the connector is compatible with this board.

Do you have any other suggestions on what else could be the problem here ? So jumper settings etc

Hi Bilal,

Can you check the pin definition of the HD connector for your lauterbach? Because the HD connector header on AWR1642 ODS board is not for MIPI 60 pin JTAG. You can find the pin list in the schematics as below.

They are not compatible from what I can see. We have found out that we need "MMWAVE-DEVPACK" from TI and the board does not work directly with external debuggers without it. We have ordered that and will see if that fixes our issue.

You could just wire the required signals to the Lauterbach connector. Is it only JTAG you are looking for?
