Compiler/IWR6843AOP: IWR6843AOP

Part Number: IWR6843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVE-STUDIO, , CCSTUDIO, MMWAVEICBOOST

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Dear team,

I would like to measure RX gain or reflection coefficient to judge that my case design prototype is good enough or not.

1. Does IWR6843AOP Demo board support mmwavelink ? I think if it supports mmwavelink I can dump RX gain there.

in device management, I can see CP210x usb to uart bridge. I am not sure which debugger I need to select.

I had selected all choices while I am getting connection test failure.

2. If there is another way around to figure out RX gain or Good sign of RX Signal to verify that my designed case is okay with RX signal strength, please let me know. I would like to go easier way for it.

Thanks in advance,

kisub

  • Hi Kisub

Yes the IWR6843AOPEVM supports both mmWaveLink and can be used with mmWave-Studio or even CCSTUDIO.

It looks like you have configured your .ccxml file incorrectly. You should be setting your Connection to Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe.

For more questions on RX Gain or related please open up a new thread.

  • This is the setting I had here.

I had connect PC with AOP demo board and I can see virtual USB connection in the following .

Still I had same error in the following

in Test Connection, I am not sure what I am doing wrong set.

[Start: Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe_0]

    Execute the command:

    %ccs_base%/common/uscif/dbgjtag -f %boarddatafile% -rv -o -S integrity

    [Result]

  • Hi Kisub

Thank you for posting the picture. The IWR6843AOPEVM will need to be paired with mmWaveICBOOST mode and the on-board switches for both boards set appropriately. This is because IWR6843AOPEVM does not possess the on-board XDS110 Debugger.
