PGA411-Q1: Connect AOUT to ground using a MOSFET

Part Number: PGA411-Q1

Hi Team,

According to the datasheet AOUT is use for testing only, in production it should be connect to ground. A customer would like to bring the AOUT pin to an external connector on their box to be able to debug the chip in situ if needed. Is it okay to GND the AOUT via a MOSFET so they can disconnect AOUT from the GND via a microcontroller? If not, can he use an analog switch instead of a MOSFET?

Is there a maximum distance recommendation between the AOUT pin and GND?

Regards,

Danilo

  • HI Danilo,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E. Its recommended that AOUT be grounded for production with no passive circuitry.   AOUT is only meant for debug  and all of the debug activities be completed prior to production.
