IWR6843ISK: Port Issues

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST

I was attempting to set up the mmWave Demo Visualizer.  Hit a snag with the serial port interaction.  Details below.

Using SDK 3 05 00 04 windows x86

mmWave Demo Visualizer 3.5

From EMU Pack 9.2.0.00002 PC Location of XDS drivers:

Ti/EMU/ccsbase/emulation/windows/xds110_drivers

Drivers correctly installed.

PC details:  Windows 10 64 bit AMD Rizen 3 2200 U with Radeon Gfx 2.5 Ghz

Ports dropdown in the above screen do not populate and cannot be typed into.

Any help appreciated!

  • Hi Richard,

I'm unable to view your images. Are you using the 6843ISK with a MMWAVEICBOOST? If so, then the drivers are correct. Is the board powered? Is the power supply 5V @ 2.5A? However, you mention that the dropdown is not populated. This leads me to believe you are using the module without the ICBOOST. If this is true, then you have installed the incorrect driver. You need to install the one from SI Labs.

    SI Labs driver:

Please inform me of your hardware setup: with or without ICBOOST, which silicon revision (ES1 or ES2), and which version of the ISK board (Rev B, C, or D).

I'd also recommend a PC restart just in case.

  • Hello, Sabeeh

I am using the boost board.  And in examining the board set for the revisions that you requested, I noticed that the lower USB port on the boost board is labeled XDS110.  Hmmm.  Same ID code as the drivers.  At the time I set up the boards, I did not know the code for the drivers and an associate told me that it did not matter which port so I was plugged into the FTDI.  As it turns out, of course, it needs to be plugged into the XDS port.

All's fine.  Your support launched me to look carefully.
