FDC1004: Measuring Capacitance between 200pF and 300pF

Hi Expert,

My customer want to measure the capacitance between 200pF and 300pF.

However, FDC1004 input range is +/-15pF. Also, The offset is 100pF max.

Can FDC1004 measure the capacitance between 200pF and 300pF?

If yes, could you please let me know the setting method?

If no, please let me know your recommended device for this measurement.

Hello Muk,

Thats correct! the FDC1004 does not meet the capacitance requirements.

Also, our FDC devices are not meant to measure true capacitance instead measure change in capacitance for proximity or level sensing applications. Can you confirm if the application needs a true capacitance measurement ?

Hi Muk,

I am sorry there isn't any device from sensing that can measure true capacitance. I would check with Amplifiers team to build a circuit discretely that can measure LCR.
