[FAQ] IWR6843ISK: Adding different gestures to an existing program

Part Number: IWR6843ISK

Hey,

I am working with the IWR6843ISK and the MMWAVEICBOOST.

I am using the Multiple Gesture and Motion Detection Lab - 68xx and would like to implement other Gestures like swiping left to right or down to up or even circular motion.

Are there any other existing programs which could be helping me achieve my goal? Or any tutorials or other help?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello

Demo/Labs for Gesture are provided as is to demonstrate the capability of mmwave sensors in gesture applications.  We do not support modifications and creation of new gestures at this stage

Having said that one can extract the Raw/post processed data from mmWave sensor and implement a training based inference model to add your own gestures.   This essentially means saving mmwave radar data features like distance, velocity, angle information for the multiple iterations of a gesture and then running it through convolution/AI pricess to implement a weighted inference model.

We can help with identifying what data you would want to extract from sensor and recommend interested developers to get well acquainted with mmWave Radar post process and machine learning programming so that they can implement extraction and inference themselves.

Hope this helps you understand the scope of activity and nature of expertise needed.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav
